For the ambitious beginner with their own designs in mind, the “Nåltova” box provides all the materials you need to start out! This box contains 8 ounces of cheviot core wool to build shapes, a quarter ounce each of 16 hand-dyed colors, a pack of 9 felting needles, and a zine about needle felting. The colors included may not match the photo exactly, but will always include one to two shades each of black, grey, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and pink. Sometimes a few of the colors included with by UV reactive!

You will need to provide your own finger protectors and surfaces to work on. Felting needles are very sharp, and are not recommended for children under the age of 8.

Dyed wool is often dyed to order rather than kept in stock, and make take up to 2 weeks to ship. Please notify me right away if you need faster shipping. The packaging includes pricing info by default, but this can be removed at your request.

My colors are dyed on 100% targhee wool roving, and are the colors I use in nearly all of my finished work. Targhee is a relatively young American breed of sheep, and targhee fiber is soft, lofty, and crimpy, making it ideal for felting. Targhee is classified as a fine wool, with a thickness of of 21-25 microns, but felts more easily than smoother wools like merino or BFL. It is possible to spin this wool, but its shorter staple length makes it best suited to thicker yarns.

All colors included in this box are hand dyed by me, using professional textile dyes and thoroughly washed to remove any excess. Due to the process I use, colors may vary slightly from one batch to the next and will generally show lighter and darker areas along the length of roving. While I strive for consistency, please do not expect perfectly even tones - variation is expected, and part of the appeal of hand-dyed wools.

I have done my best to capture colors accurately in my photos, but monitor settings and lighting may make them appear slightly different in person. In particular, teal and turquoise shades are often more saturated in person than they seem in photos.
