If you’ve ever wanted to spin the gorgeous colors available in the palette boxes, these 4 ounce braids of hand-painted polwarth are for you! Each braid is unique, and listed individually. Each braid, when unbraided, is a single 4-ounce length of unbroken roving.

You will receive only ONE of the braids shown in the photos, according to your choice from the drop-down. Braids are ready to ship and you will receive the exact braid shown according to your selection. The packaging includes pricing info by default, but this can be removed at your request.

These colors are dyed on 100% polwarth wool roving, my personal favorite for spinning. Polwarth is an Australian breed originating in the late 1800s, this offshoot of merino is well-loved by many handspinners. Polwarth has a fine thickness of of 22-25 microns and features a long, luxurious staple length with a silky feel. It spins beautifully and can be used to make very fine yarns.

All colors are hand dyed by me, using professional textile dyes and thoroughly washed to remove any excess. While similar colors may appear across multiple braids over time no effort is made to precisely recreate colors and combinations.

I have done my best to capture colors accurately in my photos, but monitor settings and lighting may make them appear slightly different in person. In particular, teal and turquoise shades are often more saturated in person than they seem in photos. Some braids may include UV reactive colors.

This item ships with tracking via USPS First Class Mail unless you choose Priority Mail as an upgraded option or include it in a larger order with other items.
