Bright, swift, running rabbit is the trickster’s favorite creature; while he may creep and whisper, he’s a humble beast with a sense of humor. This one of a kind needle felted art doll was inspired by myths across cultures and stories of all shades.

This is a one of a kind needle felted art doll. Needle felting is a technique that uses a special barbed needle to pack loose wool fibers together to create free-form, sculptural works. The surface is soft, but the body itself is much firmer than a plush doll. Many hours of work and lots of love go into each of my creatures, and all colors are hand dyed by me. The light blue markings are UV reactive, but do not glow in the dark - their special effect is only visible under blacklight.

The body has a wire armature inside, which makes it both durable and lightly poseable. This is the first piece to use my new hybrid armature technique, which uses wires in the limbs and torso but connects those parts with hidden string joints to allow greater flexibility in the hips and shoulders. Unlike previous works, this doll can be positioned to fully sit or raise its arms above its head without putting any stress on the wires. Wires can break down over time, so please be gentle with them. The string joints use many pieces of sturdy upholstery thread, but please do not pull on (or allow children to pull on) the limbs. In extreme poses, the metal washers used to anchor the string joints may become visible.

All work is completed in a smoke-free home using natural fibers.
